Where is the rotation sensor?

Hi,

The rotation sensor of my N9 does not work any more.

Do you know, where it is? It's perhaps just a defective contact, that could be easy to repair...

TIA for any hints, Peter

Hi,

It's no more possible to ask here:

http://developer.nokia.com/community...p/220-Nokia-N9

Where else could I find people who know the hardware?
Should I ask in a Jolla forum?

Before opening the N9, I would like to know, where the sensor is...

TIA for any hints, Peter

Hi.

Have you tried this http://everythingn9.com/adjust-rotat...vity-nokia-n9/ ?

I would try it before opening the device.

OTOH, I don't really know where the sensor is located :(
Regards.

Hi,

Yes, I know about this file. But it's a hardware problem.

I did not drop the phone, but it is more or less this issue:

Anyway, I have to open it because of my display problem:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=94239

So, when I know the location of the sensor, I'll
- open the phone
- try to solve both hardware problems
- if rotation sensor cannot be fixed, then I'll write an app for switching the orientation (or does it already exist?)

Hi,

Searching a bit around I have found this.
I's a schematic of the mainboard, etc. But I didn't find the rotation sensor. Maybe you can find out something.

Regards.

Re: Where is the rotation sensor?

Hi.

I think I've found it:

There's an 3D Accelerometer in the top right corner of the schematics of my previous post (page 4). According to the mapping this chip - called N1310 - must be allocated in coordinate B9. See coordinates in page 11 of the schematics.

Hope this helps. Good luck!.

Regards.

Great, thanks! It's the ST LIS302DL, I'll buy some pieces.

(I googled for "N9 disassembly", that was not so good. "schematics" is better.)

I'll report back the results.

You must have tried it, but I think I read somewhere that waving the device in a figure of 8 can sometimes help (or was that for the Jolla?).
