Flashing N9 - How to install with OVI store down

Dear all,

I've had to flash my MeeGoo Harmatton yesterday. I have a plenty amount of backups but those do not re-install any apps.
I have saved the most of *.deb files, too. In the past, I downloaded FileCase from the OVI store, then installed the deb files.

But now I am desperated!!

Now, with the QVI store down, I cannot install neither FileCase, nor terminal nor any other app that I could use to install my saved apps.
How do I install at least FileCase (or similar) offline without any terminal???

Please help, I have seached the web for help but I have failed completely...
Thanks

you don't need ovi store to enable developer mode and get terminal.
also you can send file to email, send it via bluetooth, download it from web and install by clicking from transfers window

Yes.

Developer mode does not depend on store.

And what about:
https://openrepos.net
Especially
https://openrepos.net/content/cepiperez/filecase

Just enable third-party software installation from settings.

Dear Coderus,

thank you for that answer.

Yes, developer mode I have activated in the settings->programs as ever.

But how to access terminal? In the past, I used the N9Qtweak that automatically installed the terminal (or just activated it?). Thus, with FileBox download and then installing the script I was done.

Now, I fail with the first step and feel like a bloody beginner :( :(
I will try the transfer window method that sounds promising.

terminal is activated automatically after enabling developer mode.

Dear Coderus, dear Peter,

I never got the idea to install apps from the transfer window. I always saved it in the phone's download folder, then accessing it with FileCase or the Terminal.
Yes, your proposed method has worked very smoothly with the N9 standard browser, using openrepos.net.

For all others that may face the same problem here the easiest way:

1. After resetting / flashing your device, enable "Allow non-store installations" in the Settings->Programs menu like you did usually.
2. Browse openrepos.net with the N9 browser using Peterlein's link above.
3. Download the FileCase *.deb file.
4. In the transfer window, install the downloaded file by tipping it.
5. Now, you can install all your saved apps and scripts from your N9 folders.

Coderus, Peterlein, I am always happy about people like you who have invested so much time in patiently helping other folks for so many years now. In the past 2 years, your posts and answers helped me and others so much that we can never compensate you for. Without you people, MeeGo would have died a long time ago.

Thank you very much for all your work. Cheers
TT

Oh yes, I've found my mistake.

For the other Noobs:
Developer Mode you must activate in the "Settings->Security" section.

1. After resetting / flashing your device, enable "Allow non-store installations" in the Settings->Programs menu like you did usually.
2. Then, go to Settings->Security menue, activate Developer mode there, confirm the download request, and sit and wait for the restart.

That brings the Terminal back.

Because I haven't needed it for so long time (thanks to the N9QTweak) I simply forgot it.
Best regards
