Application manager problems and misc

Hi all,

I just received my 770 last Thursday.

I spent some of Friday and most of Saturday learning about it and loading software.

I seem to have taken it to some point where I am haveing problems with the Application Manager.

I have loaded all the repositories from:

http://www.gronmayer.com/n800/repos/index.php?lang=en

plus a few others.

In the Application manager when I tap on "show installed applications" , it says no applications installed. which is incorrect cause the menus show applications that I did install and most of them actually work ;)

Likewise when I tap on "install new applications", it might try to do an update (depends on when the last update was done I guess), but it shows that no applications are available. Yesterday it showed all kinds of applications that are available for loading.

And likewise no updates are available when I tap on that option.

I am using this at home, where I have a wireless router setup. I can browse the internet with the 770 (after a fashion, it doesn't seem to like certain pages), so I am certain that it has an internet connection.

So, I am hoping that someone has a hint.

Some other questions and observations. I wish there was more PDA type functionality to device. Has anyone tried the pimlico software?

I am not totally happy with the OS, I wish the the Ubunto for mobile devices project was more up to speed. I think if it was, there would be more options available for software.

I think this device has so much potential and just doesn't live up to it. I am eagerly hoping that future events will deliver on the potential of this device. :)

Thanks for listening to my problems and whining. ;)

Michael
