Encode now available for SailfishOS
I ported over Encode from the desktop (a python based app based on QtQuick 1.0) to SailfishOS.
It is an easy to use audio & video converter application based on ffmpeg. I am not sure if it is any useful as converting audio & video files on a mobile device (phone or tablet) is painfully slow compared to the desktop. (at least in my tests I had to wait pretty long for the encoding to finish) Though for easy stuff like extracting audio from video it might be useful. As the packages come shipped with a precompiled static ffmpeg build I guess it won't make it in harbour (at least it isn't allowed today). You can grab the rpm from openrepos. Awesome!
I haven't tested it yet, but is there an option to give the maximum size for the converted file so it will automatically adjust the quality? I've been using an Android app for this, would love to use this native app :) |
Re: Encode now available for SailfishOS
Nope thats not implemented currently.
Honestly Iam not sure how to achieve that even. |
