Using Xterm...

Hello all I am a proud owner of a N800 as of today.

I dled xterm so i could put put in the scripts (im not quite sure what to call it) from that linux tablet blog so I can link my phone to my n800 but have encountered problems where even when i type in the commands such as #ssh root@localhost nothing happens when i hit enter. I then found the thread for rootaccess and noticed because I have the new operating system that it wont work? I also used one of the users advice of typing in root@<ip.addr> and doesnt work. I am completely clueless what to do next and some help would be greatly appreciated it.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge and pestering questions but when i follow what that blog says it puts me in just sh, and not ssh would i have to install the ssh server/client i find in the application manager by i think Maemo? Or is sh = ssh?

Re: Using Xterm...

dtmb6: You'll need to install DropBear or OpenSSH server/client before you can ssh root@localhost. Even the latest OS2007 will allow ssh root@localhost with a password of "rootme" (no quotes), but the ssh server will need to be running (which installing via app manager will take care of).
