Thanks for the link to the articel Karel. It surprises me that CNET published an article like that. There has been alot written about NBC pulling it's shows off of iTUNES. As a consumer who is more than willing to pay for content (i.e. video/music downloads) it is frustrating to be tied into one particular device with DRM schemes being used to protect content. I understand why they want to protect their content, but I as a consumer would like to be able to easily play music and watch videos I have already paid for on my N800.

Thanks Karel for this post! Arrrgggh! I've always wanted to be a pirate!

Though it be most definitely illegal, I'm been thinkin' this method does point toward the way content is going to be delivered to the net-lubbers abroad in the not-too-distant future.

This notice is very timely, what with the Videocenter beta-tease-release having sparked anew my interest in actually getting the TV I want on my N800 in less than ten steps. Like the path to getting DVD content on the N800, it's getting simpler. It seems like we may even be getting closer to the day when can have our own TV channel/feed. I read the Nokia white paper on the Videocenter and in theory, there will be a way to serve up specialized content right to, and perhaps even for, the N800!

Everyone already knew that a guide existed. It consists of just one trigger word: bittorrent.

Google it, look it up in wikipedia, ask any IT person about that word, and eventually you'll figure it all out.

About the willing to pay for content part... I wonder.

Most of the stuff on those TV-torrents sites is from Free To Air stations. Aren't they paid already?

Cnet mentioned streaming the tvrss files on the n800. i'm asking b/c it would be awesome to be able to stream nbc shows like heroes. so will this process work with video center or something else on the n800?

In all seriousness - thanks for linking to my article. Downloading content directly to your N800 via bit-torrent is not really that usable. However, setting up an rsync solution to the N800 from another linux machine is a fantastic way to get video content onto the N800.
