Protecting the screen from cracking
 

Unfortunately, the good ol' times of plastic screens (as on our N900s) are gone by, glass screens are all the hype.

If we have to cope with it: what are your experiences with protecting the screen from cracking? Do you use a screen protector? Plastic vs tempered glass? Do you have any experience with protective cases, similar to these [1] [2]? Do you have any other methods to prevent a shattered screen after an unlucky fall?

Check the jolla C threads, it's from the good ol' times of plastic (some complain about scratching though) and there are a few companies mentioned doing custom size/shape protectors from guerilla glass or similar, whether that protects from shattering is yet to be established
