[App request} Signal - secure textmessaging- for Nokia N9
Hi N9-ers!
Lately there's a lot of media attention for the secure textmessaging app 'Signal'. Since Whatsup is done for us and Telegram was never that secure, maybe Signal is a good alternative? Especially since WA starting to give you phone number to FB for commercials etc. I was wondering, and I know there aren't much developers left for our beloved piece of art, if there are some left wo will give it a try? According to this tread there is some work done for Jolla, but I really would like to try it on my N9. So, are there more people who like the idea and maybe start on this job? Cheers! |

Signal discourages third party apps from using their servers so I don't think you have much luck getting someone interested.

Ring has secure text messaging, voice and video calling, and no servers to worry about:

They're working on multi client support and everything else you could possibly think of, too. Best of all, it works really well already. My friends and I will certainly start using it instead of Signal as soon as multi client support is available, and I will urge others to consider it as well. It's even easier to use, you don't need to register anything at all, and it also doesn't share your address book with anyone.

" it's unlcear if Open Whisper Systems supports 3rd party clients connecting to their servers They prefer people using the official Signal clients, but they don't intend to block third party clients (which would be impossible anyway because the third party clients could just pretend to be the official client)." So it might or might not be the case according what someone said in the internets? |

I'm curious: is there still no Signal app for Meego? Thanks.
