Full tree support for n900 with new Linux 4.9 kernel. What is this mean?
The DeviceTree conversion for mach-omap2 is complete, including full support for the Nokia N900.
Can someone explain what this means? http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pag...x-4.9-ARM-Pull |

I sometimes read Phoronix as it sometimes has interesting news that doesn't get posted on other sites, but the guy who runs it does my head in and often doesn't know what he's talking about.
He's probably referring to this commit. I think what he is trying to say is that the final board files for legacy booting have now been removed from the mach-omap2 tree and that device tree booting now fully supersedes it. This is true for OMAP3 which includes the N900, however despite what Phoronix claim, there are still legacy board files remaining for the N8x0 series (OMAP2). |
