Thanks for the hint with getpass.py. Now it's working for me, too.
Actually you don't have to wait until the video has completely downloaded before you can play it. Klick the Download button wait...

Re: Youtube browser - mYTube - released
Yes, Youtube did change the strucutre of their website. Other Youtube download applications stopped working, too. e.g. also Canola can't download Youtube videos anymore.

Re: Bounty: Yellownotes Home Applet
Not yet. I'm currently wokring on version 0.5. Porting to Maemo 4 style declarations (which is a prerequisite for using transparency) is meanwhile finished. Though I still have to tackle the...

Re: Lack of pirated software - dealbreaker?
Reminds me of the Atari vs. Amiga discussion back in school, 20 years ago.
When somebody did buy a home computer, the decision was not based on whether Atari or Amiga is better (not that there was...

Re: Store SMS as Draft on N900?
Is there really a need for such a feature on the N900? After all the N900 is meant to be an "always-on" device and it's capable of running multiple applications in parallel.

Re: So how's the WiFi?
There are big differences in Wifi sensitivity even between N800 and N810. N800 has a better sensitivity probably due to different antenna placement.
So N800/N810 dbm doesn't give any hints how...

Re: Handwriting, please…
I doubt that Nokia will drop stylus support even with a capacitive display.
As the Maemo platform already exists for quite some time there are many apps - besides handwriting reconition - which...

Re: N900 will not allow USB OTG!
Well, at least Mini A/B/AB ports have exactly the same wiring and electrical specs. The main difference is the form factor and that devices with AB ports have to support host/device auto detection...

Re: Is the FM transmitter any good in real life?
Why bother with AUX input or even FM transmitter? More and more car audio systems have AD2P support. e.g. the Sony MEX-BT* series. Blaupunkt and Pioneer are also manuacturing AD2P enabled car audio...

Search the forums for Jalimo. It's a Java engine that's supposed to get at least some Java applications running on Maemo (I couldn't get it working though).

Re: Save Diablo! (a rant and request)
I wouldn't worry that everybody suddenly abandons the N8x0.
Going from N8x0 to N900 is imo a completely different thing than going from N700 to N8x0.
Compared to it's predecessors the N900 is...

I think support for developing Maemo specific Java applications (Hildon bindings...) is not even that important.

Re: The Reg reviews the N900
This seems to be a bit strange. Even on a N800 with Tear this page is loading completely in around 7 seconds.
I just can't imagine, that the browser of the N900 is really that bad.

Will there...

Re: n900: isn't it too thick?
Imo for a smartphone it is too thick and too heavy. For an internet tablet, weight and thickness would be ok.
Of course on the other hand the screen seems to be approprately sized for a smarphone,...
