yeah - but isn't that basically doing a canola cleanup followed by installing beta 11 ?
The latest update works for me - which means that it is some freak error that is causing that python error...

You can open up xterm and run 'canola -vvv' and redirect the output to a log file.
Have you tried installing the flickr plugin to see if that brings the tuning plugin back to life ?
