Defending the Nokia M$ partnership.
I know everyone here loves the openness of their phone and they hate the idea of an M$ mobile; however, the Nokia, M$ partnership is basic game theory. The object of the game is to create the most...

Re: The alarm works whilst powered off! How?
I'm sure that the system has a real time clock chip (maybe a DS1337) that only pulls a few microwatts when the rest of the phone is powered down. The alarm software sets the next alarm time on the...

Re: make[2]: *** No rule to make target `..\..\src\qtservice.h', needed by `main.o'. Stop.
The output is saying that the file ../../src/qtservice.h is a dependency of main.o. The error stating that there is no rule to make target ../../src/qtservice.h, which implies that the file doesn't...

Re: is that true? the next N9** will use Intel CPU?
There are asymmetric dual core omap3 devices; the dsp core normally runs TI's DSPBIOS OS and the arm core runs linux. A linux kernel module allows them to communicate. They are nice.

Re: Might the next tablet be a dual-core device?
I met some TI reps and asked them about the omap4 devices; they said that we didn't have enough volume to sell those chips to us. They were not released to the general public. They explained that...

Re: N900 hardware improvements (N900i)
The microUSB port is on the wrong side of the phone. It needs to be opposite of the speaker for the ear; I don't talk on the phone while charging, because I am paranoid that I'm going to bend...

Re: N900 phone answering behaviour with resistive screen?
It isn't possible to take the phone out very carefully. It is a tight pocket; the screen rubs my leg, my wallet, and/or my fingers touch the screen while taking it out sometimes. It just depends on...

Re: N900 phone answering behaviour with resistive screen?
Here is how it works for me.
1: I put the phone in my pocket. Obviously, I lock the screen before I do this; otherwise, I'll be instructing the phone to do random things while I walk. That...

Re: [Proposal pending] Improve the calendar
One thing that I really find annoying is the fact that I can't create an event to reoccur every other week, or the x monday of the month. Support for this should be really easy.

Re: Why is the N900 image size so small?
The images are stored in the EXIF file format. There is a tag in the EXIF header that can be used to fill in the time and date. My N900 fills this in properly. If you have a debian based system,...
