Just for the sake of some clarity, I use that adapter with a Nokia ACP-12X charger - output of 5.7V @ 800mA - Which does get hot, but not to the point of melting.

That is some mess. I have experienced that adapter bit getting hot with the charger i use with the N96. However, it has never *yet* got to the point of making the plastic go soft / melt.

Noobmonkey - If you are still running a non updated UK firmware the app manger / file manger don't do anything with the .deb. You have to drop down to the shell and manually install it.

Got the Angry Birds level pack too. One thing Nokia need to clear up very quickly is the ability to have the file manager handle .deb files better. Not every person will know how to install a .deb...

Removing maemo.org catalogue in Application Manager?

Hi guys,

I have a weird problem with application manager. For some reason I seem to have a maemo.org entry which can't be deleted. It is pointing to the /extras repository.

Is this normal?

What i found to be a great help was the Package View application which shows all the installed packages on the phone. Made it very helpful for me to get rid of the junk on the phone I don't use....

Nice find! It will have something to do with the camera application using the microphone when in video mode. I guess at present it is something we will just have to live with.
