I don't know what the cifs thing does, I've got wizard mounter installed but not running, and when I run it, I only use nfs. wifi powersaving is max.

Ow, iirc my 3210 also had something like a field test mode and I could enable it via a kind of 'code' mail_e36 mentioned. Therefore I tought it was no ussd code. ;)

My N900 makes connection to the GSM and/or GPRS network within half a minute when I enter the outside world from my work hide-out (i.e. cold-war style bunker).

This would be great :D. I use the (now a bit classical) Aladin Air and it would be great to send the log info to the N900 (via a PC because the Aladin interface is RS232) and review it later.

Previously I used my Qtek 8310 (same as HTC Tornado), loved the phone, not the OS (wm5) but the d-pad became broken so using was very impracticle. Replaced it with the N900 :D
