just delete .modest directory and you will free space. I did it some time ago and worked well.
You may move/rename it first just to make sure you wont lose anything

I have found that fsck is outdated and may cause the problems and corrupting the filesystem.
Does the fsck from backup menu works well? or is it the same binary?

My filesystem have some errors. I have I/O error when trying to list .pulse directory so probably it is a cause in my case.

I was wrong, after a longer time I noticed that sound was not played at all while I received one message (I have recieved more and it is fine in most cases) and I got default ringtone for call once....

try dpkg -l | grep -i pulse
Check which packages you have already installed and swap them.

I have the same problem, switching from mp3 to nokia ringtone didn't change anything.

For me only first notification sound after reboot is played.

works after installing pulseaudio...

It seems also camera button does not invoke the camera app any more. It did if I remember correctly.

After removing /home/user/.modest I have message that it is not avliable on the server on both account. Are sure that it is not last CSSU stable update fault - i was using gmail without any problems...
