I tried it with Hero Of Sparta (.deb) by changing the name in the .sh file to "HeroOfSparta" and run it via x-term before running the game,...

there's a chinese port of PvZ (it's very similar)
And there's also a copy of PvZ called Leave the Devil Alone or something like that
