Re: Why do you want/need the N9?
I want an external HDMI monitor output and USB so I can ditch my laptop once and for all.
Hopefully the N9 won't add HDMI but screw up the N900 features such as the ability to take graphic notes...

Re: Xournal for Fremantle
Of course not! I'm having a severe shortage of free time this month. But will this change allow us to create new pages?

Re: 2ghz phone by end of 2010
Until we can create software to use all the cores ghz IS important. The N900 loads/renders web-pages way too slowly. And when external HDMI screens can be connected that speed will be even more...

Re: Xournal for Fremantle
I am definitely still going on the new page button. I temporarily lost some steam when I tried to build Xournal and I ended up trashing my N900 (due to installing too many things outside of /opt) and...

Re: Xournal for Fremantle
I'm working on it. I'll have more time this weekend and I'll talk to anidel too. It's going slowly. I believe that once I get it to build things will speed up.
Anidel:
I have recovered my N900...

Re: Xournal for Fremantle
I can't get past running ./configure because it wants that file. It probably doesn't need the file but I don't want to go mucking about in the configure file.
I have been looking at the source...

Re: Xournal for Fremantle
Except that since I cannot get my linux laptop to boot I am trying to build it on the device. I have built many things this way so I know it works. But I don't have scratchbox.
Probably the only...

Re: Xournal for Fremantle
OK, while my laptop won't boot Linux right now I got the code onto my N900 which has gcc, gdb, autoconf, etc. on it.
The problem I am having is that a few files are simlinks to files in...

Re: Xournal for Fremantle
Cool! I will start looking at it tomorrow.
EDIT: So Friday night I installed the Maverick Ubuntu beta and now I cannot boot into Linux. ARRG! I'm working on it.

Re: Xournal for Fremantle
I will have some time this weekend. I don't really need a full git repo. You could just tar it up and email it to me. My (spam protected) email is q s t r e a m AT g mail. com.

Re: Features for next device
Actually, I wouldn't mind if floating point processing went the way of the dinosaur. 64-bit integers are faster, have greater range (in the sense of more states) and don't have the many...

Features for next device
The Maemo/Meego series is getting closer and closer to being a general purpose computer. There are lots of sci-fi inventions that have been in the tech news lately: medical microscopes for cell...

Re: Xournal for Fremantle
Right now I always carry my N900 and a notebook. As soon as the page buttons are done I'll need only the N900! I tried the Debian version but it isn't as cool.

For me it crashes reliably if I try to 'look around' while it is trying to center on GPS.

Re: Finally happy with my xterm keyboard layout
For me it is best to leave the shift arrow keys alone because I use them to select text or items in a list. In many editors (e.g., Geany) if you hold shift and move the cursor with the arrows it...

Re: Advanced N900 keyboard remapping
I've been mapping my keys as these forums and the wiki suggest, but I find that I cannot make Tab or Delete work. Tab sometimes works (e.g., in vi) but it won't do tab-completion in x-term. Delete...
