Re: Modest email sync reliability using offlineimap and dovecot

Re: ROS - Robotic Operating System - for N900

ROS is a framework, it's not an application on its own. You can develop on top of it. Nodes are deployed on different computers on a network. One or more nodes could be hosted on N900, nodes that...

Re: Modest email sync reliability using offlineimap and dovecot

Yes, I've seen your post few days ago too ! Didn't give a try though. I don't know if your patch will be applied but there seems to be sync problems that would also need to be solved. Delegating this...

Re: Modest email sync reliability using offlineimap and dovecot

Hi guys,

I tried to improve the tutorial by providing instructions to launch dovecot and offlineimap at boot time. I've also explained how to setup offlineimap so it refreshes itself, instead of...

Hi Dave,

I created a bug report in bugzilla (n°10651), I selected "wiki" as component, but I'm not sure it's been forwered to you.

Let me know if I can help.

Cheers,

Hi guys,

I was editing a wiki page about Modest email client and was informed only my IP address would be considered in history. I then tried to login again, but got the following error:

Re: Modest email sync reliability using offlineimap and dovecot

OK, I've uploaded them on a dropbox account, and update wiki page. You'll find links to my deb packages at the end.

Let me know if you face any troubles.

Seb

Re: Modest email sync reliability using offlineimap and dovecot

This is driving me crazy... Max size for deb files is 488KB, I need to upload 2.1M for mutt and 3.9M for dovecot...

Any hints ?

I've started to write a tutorial on wiki section:

Re: Modest email sync reliability using offlineimap and dovecot

getmail sounds nice, "getmail is designed to replace other mail retrievers such as fetchmail". I used fetchmail but never tried this one. It can retrieve emails from IMAP account, but from what I...

Re: Modest email sync reliability using offlineimap and dovecot

You could use fetchmail or, as mentioned, getmail. There's no 2-ways sync using POP, so the process is easier than syncing an IMAP account.

Modest email sync reliability using offlineimap and dovecot

Hi guys,

I've been "playing" with different approaches in order to get a reliable email solution, as Modest client isn't that good...

Beside several GUI issues, main problem seems to be sync...

Re: How bad is the mail client...

This sounds great, but also too far from Maemo platform I'd say. More than a port, that would be a complete rewrite, don't you think ? Any attempts ?

In the meantime, I've been able to package...
