Seems all binaries involved in flashing and firmware have vanished so even if I did want to do a destructive recovery that is no longer an option :/

For existing users the ship has more or less sailed probably (except for non-wa contacts they add now), but allowing us (potential new users) to choose whether or not the contacts db will be scanned...
