The Wayfinder MAP application took my navicore number and authenticated correctly.
Luckily I had already downloaded the USA West maps awhile back during...

The N800 ruined Rockbox for me.
I had bought a Sandisk e280 for MP3 use 6 weeks before I bought the N800.
You can replace the original firmware with Rockbox.

Sound like for some reason you have the "CHAT" and SKYPE mixed up. (Or you think they are related somehow.)
The chat stuff (Jabber, google etc) is ONLY for chat.
Skype is a standalone program....
