My n800 is doing something similar...
It clicks when I touch the touchscreen the first time, but then no more clicks or touches are registered.
I also had the uncalibrated screen effect going...

Nice, maybe I'm not as loony as I thought after all :) Thanks for the voice recommendation, that would get annoying.
And yep I upgraded to 2008 (wayfinder is bundled/installed with the OS already...

That app doesn't work on my N800 with OS2008 :( It does a loading screen then eventually just changes to a light blue background.
