The brand new OS2008 firmware released this week has solved the power on issue that I had. It's a great device.

Pages like ebay, for example, never rendered properly for me now seem to be much, much better. Maybe I had my own 'local' problem, but so far it's much better.

I've updated to the latest OS2008 firmware and my N800 is working better than ever! The power on issue seems to have been fixed and the web browser does a much better job of rendering webpages.

For what it's worth, there might be a fix coming from the Maemo group. bugs.maemo.org (https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2673#c30)

Unfortunately. I have the power-on problem even with an empty SD card.

It certainly seems like the N800 does a bunch of checks when the power button is pressed and if it doesn't like what it...

I just got my N800 yesterday. I don't know if my power on problem is the same, but in my case it's only hard to power on when I have the Nokia supplied mini-SD card installed. It doesn't matter which...
