I almost never used google satellite. I think I was blocked b/c I was using winmapper (as mentioned in that other post). I just went to google satellite to view the areas, and had already blocked.......

sorry to bring up an old thread, but rather than start a new one I figured this was best. I'm using winmapper to try and get around my downloading directly in Maemo Mapper problems.

So.. I'm definitely not the only one. I haven't had any success changing my IP addres, I'm with Shaw cable. And, i haven't had much luck using a proxy server (managed to get one working for about 30...

That's another interesting idea... does that happen often, or has anybody else experienced this? I was able to reconnect, view a few maps (and download about 50mb worth of data). And now, once again...

And the problem was.... just my wireless connection.
Not sure why it worked with the other map repositories, but as soon as I switched to my neighbours wireless connection it worked perfectly....

So... I uninstalled and re-installed Maemo mapper, same problem - no changes. It says processing maps for a long time, then just fails. Has a completely black screen.
