While the workarounds work to some degree, there also seems to be an issue with the include path for the mobility libraries, so I added a comment to the above bug, and moved back to QtSDK 1.1.2...

n900 battery icon grey
i'm not sure why, but the battery icon seems to be always greyed out now, and the corresponding button says 'start apmd' and 'apmd disconnected'.
iirc, there were a couple of updates that came in...

n900 as mass storage on ubuntu 11.04/natty
I just upgraded from 10.04 to 11.04 and now I cannot mount my n900 in mass storage mode - not the internal or the uSD card. On 10.04, I would get two devices mounted and windows automatically open.

Is there some other way to find out what version of ubuntu I'm running? I just confirmed that the 'about ubuntu' shows 10.04 LTS. If I select 'normal released' instead of just 'LTS' in 'Update...

That's possible, but I did an 'about ubuntu' and it said LTS - though I forget the actual version number. If I had done an update, wouldn't it have changed the 'about'?

Yes, Ubuntu LTS (10.04?). I'm pretty sure it used to work, so something must have been broken in an update.
Anyway, the thread you link to provides some tips that seem to improve things somewhat...
