Re: Connections priority?
Nope. Connection priority is bug 1043 (https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1043). If you're interested in such a feature, vote for the bug; maybe some day there will be enough votes to take it...

Re: Droid X, what does everythink about it?
It's definitely impressive, as far as Android devices without hardware keyboards go. After some hesitation, I pulled the trigger today... and will hopefully be in possession of it by next week. Then...

Re: Lost Missed Calls notification after PRI 1.2
AFAIK, it's not possible to get a native missed call notification without the phone knowing it got a call (it must be connected to the cellular network with enough signal strength to receive the...

Re: my n900 zapped me!
Your body was electrostatically charged. When you plugged the cable in to your TV, it provided a path for your body to discharge through.

Re: [HOWTO] Freeing up rootfs space
Glad I could be of assistance :)
Sure, there are a few things that can be manually optified, but if you aren't having problems it's not worth the trouble.
I'm sitting at 60MB free on my...

Re: [HOWTO] Freeing up rootfs space
That's not too bad.
Some of the packages exist only to pull in other packages, and don't install any files (such as python-all), so there is nothing to optify. In some cases, it's just not...

Re: N900 Stolen
Believe it or not, in the US people tend to be unaware of the SIM card and what it exists for. Plus there is a good chance it's some cracked out idiot that won't think about someone sending a SMS to...

Re: n900 can not run 2 connection? wifi and 3G?
Simultaneously? The only way I can even begin to imagine this would work is if you established one or both of the connections manually, outside of ICd's control, and manually set up the appropriate...

Re: Phone Randomly Launches
Within the top drop-down menu in the phone app, select turning control. What is the state of "Launch by turning"? From this screen you should also be able to toggle forced portrait mode.

Re: n900 can not run 2 connection? wifi and 3G?
There are probably a number of reasons this was not supported in Maemo - power savings, simplicity, and reliability come to mind. Power savings is obvious, without an active cellular data connection...

Re: Power saving on/off ?
@Andre: I don't think this is a case of wanting to disable the 802.11 radio, but rather temporarily changing the power management setting to increase 802.11 performance.

Re: Power saving on/off ?
As root:
iwconfig wlan0 power off
will disable power management temporarily. You will need the wireless-tools package (from Nokia Apps repo) installed to get this command (IIRC, it isn't by...

Re: [HOWTO] Freeing up rootfs space
Good point - I forgot about the compression. I'm not sure what method could be used to figure out disk usage that factors in compression, to compare against df to determine if fs corruption has...

Re: [HOWTO] Freeing up rootfs space
@romanianusa: du returns disk space used, so compare against the used column of df output. They should match, or at least be close, unless the file system is corrupt.

Re: [HOWTO] Freeing up rootfs space
The file system may be corrupt... Try running "du -hsx /" and see if the total agrees with the amount df shows used for the rootfs to get an idea of what actual used space looks like.

Re: [HOWTO] Freeing up rootfs space
Sure... but there is nothing in extras* to do this AFAIK. Suggesting to optify things such as this without automation is usually avoided, since talking the average end user through mv's and ln's and...
