I can get a lock within a few seconds without data connection, but it will be off by a few hundred yards. It takes my n900 usually about 40 to 60 seconds to get a precise position.

How many pictures do you have on your device?
If you delete everything in /home/user/.thumbnails/, it should only recreate thumbnails for images which are present.

The thumbnails can be found in /home/user/.thumbnails/
It should be safe to delete everything in that folder. The thumbnails will be recreated the next time the media player or picture viewer is...
