As far as I know first batches were manufactured in Finland, the last number in IMEI is the check digit and the second last is part of the serial number and its not too uncommon for pixels to die or...

I don't have a N900, but you could try something like this with wmctrl (http://maemo.org/packages/view/wmctrl/) to make the application think its being closed from the useri nterface:

I tried rebooting, forcing tracker to update, reflashing and restoring again without any results. Trackerbackup seems to be corrupted on all my backups ;( Why didn't the backup software ever warn me...

Hmm, the applet probably starts up before wlan gets disabled, so it shows wrong status :/

To fix it, you could add this line:
commands.getoutput('sudo /sbin/unload-drivers.sh')
after this...

start on started hildon-desktop

respawn
