This is a low blow. Let's not pretend Maemo updates have been in a walk in the park over the years, or have been done that often. Microsoft is scheduled to have 3 updates this year for WP7.

I wasn't trying to make a huge profit. I just didn't need it sitting in a basket for a year. It also makes the wife happier when I can offset the cost of a new toy.

Since I haven't heard anything I'll go down to $200 and include an 8GB microSD card. And if you're interested I have a Zephyr HxM bluetooth heart rate monitor for eCoach that I'll let go for $25.

The sad thing is this would have been so cool if the phone would dock where the touch pad would normally be so the phone's display would double as the laptops touch pad.

Given the N900 is a over a year old it does pretty well. We'll see how the Nokia MeeGo based phone compares since it should have similar capability with a more powerful OS.

You can't complain about Nokia's upgrade methods when you have customized you device so much. Nokia isn't going to waste the time to write an installer that deals with every possible configuration.

I don't agree with this. I think Nokia's software engineers are as good as anyone else. Maemo was a sandbox. Name another company in 2006/2007 that was putting Linux on a phone sized devices (770)...
