I'd skip that one and get something decent instead. You'll probably never get a driver with support for video/3D acceleration. I've understood that it does work pretty well unaccelerated these days...

This has also been discussed before I think. IIRC e17 ignores the keyboard settings in Xorg config as it uses its own tool to handle that. I cant remember how it was solved, it's probably buried...

Last time I checked, e17 was build without GLES2 etc. support and even if it would be enabled, I doubt it would work with the binary blobs.

fbdev-driver you have is not compiled for Xorg 1.14, try pacman -Syu and if there is no updated version, you need to pass -ignoreABI to Xorg, chances are it may even work.

SMS and calls work, I have not tested GPRS. Configuration is a bit tricky though. Sources can be downloaded from wherever Mer and Nemo keep their files nowadays. Cant comment about Kubuntu.
