Franky, I just use it to read my rss feed (with inoreader) in the 10 minutes pause after dinner. And it's bad (s.....l.....o......w) even for that.

I simply don't care if the UI is closed, I can replace it with another one (e.g. xterm :p). Now, if the drivers are closed, I have no way to install a newer kernel, which in turns will preclude me...

Well, assembler predates any "high level" language by a wide margin, and pascal first appeared in 1970 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal_%28programming_language%29), while C only appeared in 1973...
