I know the entire USB host mode thing has been discussed a lot. I am pretty sure that my iRiver iHP-120 is a self-powered USB device, but it is not showing up when I connect it to my 770 through a mini-B to mini-B cable. Could it be that the device still needs some power from the 770 for it to go into USB mode?
This is what I did:
I enabled the host mode through flashing and through the command echo host > etc... that was discussed before. Either way I get the same result.
I checked /proc/partitions and it isn't showing up there. I checked dmesg and I get:
[ 945.014465] Selected HOST mode: host controller present.
[ 945.014587] USB cable disconnected
So - aparently it's not recognizing that it is connected at all.
Does anyone have any experience with getting a self-powered device to work?
Thank you in advance.
