Expect a tidal wave soon, wherein thousands of apps will be upgraded to run on larger screens.
The single-binary run anywhere strategy is a damned good one -- say what you will about Java. Google IO features a lecture on Google TV and Android apps, which makes sense thanks to the new Honeycomb APIs leveraging the higher screen, and the proliferation of SoCs that can handle the increased res. Android apps on Google TV will make a seriously compelling platform for video, games, and even light productivity.
But why stop there? There is also the possibility to include android APK support in the upcoming Chrome OS by way of NaCL, or even in distributions that will have them (eg. Ubuntu). Certainly RIM's QNX can't be the only system to cash in on this platform agnosticism.
Interesting times ahead.
