That's actually an enticing system for the form factor, and an OS that has great emulator support, and good native gaming support. As time goes on, native gaming support is improving, so that's encouraging.

But I agree with you re: specs. This thing needs to have very high specs to even be considered worthwhile with tomorrows games -- unless your goal is to run emulators all day, in which case it's probably fine.

I hope the battery life wasn't a secondary concern.... This is little different than an Android phone, in a larger form factor, so battery life should be at least as good.
