a dedicated gpu (>ATi4330) and a cpu with SU3500>SU7300>i5-470UM>i7 2657M (Sandy Bridge has intel hd3000 which is comparable to Nvidia 320M/ATi 5450).

3) or you would recommend a cheap notebook like an internet special/refurbished/used one, or one which has AMD's new APU (which is only comparable to my SU7300+4330).

... markets just too crowded to take any netbook + Chrome seriously.
No, you're missing the point.

I would not recommend a mobile tablet, in place of a traditional laptop for productivity. Having seen a chromebook, I would not recommend a thin/light computer with a traditional OS, and I most certainly would not recommend a cheap netbook with Chrome installed by default.

I would, without a doubt, recommend a chromebook to my non-hacker colleagues.

Chrome eliminates the user-maintenance problem, and increases ease-of-use and general security to an unprecedented height. Moreover, the sophistication of web applications is certainly on par with most user-facing software currently found on traditional OSs save for niche markets.

If you think that the market will not take a chromebook seriously, you may be in for a shock.

This past weekend, I talked to both my Girlfriend, a friend, and a business colleague about chromebooks, and the level of interest was very high. My gf is pretty set on getting a chromebook as her next computer over the macbook that she has currently. My friend is giving it serious consideration and he has a macbook pro and a brand new iMac.

I am also thinking about integrating a chromebook into my general workflow.
