Never mind. So you have PR1.3 and no ringtones at all, but ALL other sounds work fine on your N900?
Are you certain silent mode isn't on, or the volume is on zero/very low so you cannot hear it?

One other question: Are you using any type of headphone or bluetooth headset etc?

Could you list any multimedia software you have installed, media players, converters, etc?
