Packages form obvious groups, each group is independent of the others
Kernel with modules+ramzswap (ramzswap has kernel as dependency, so it is impossible to bork diablo with it)
All dbus packages
All gconf2 packages
Scripts and other packages (all are harmless but some scripts are useless if kernel features aren't present)

Packages which aren't present in diablo can be simply uninstalled, including the kernel.
dbus and gconf are system packages, and they can't be uninstalled, but have to be reverted to the diablo release, which can be done with "apt-get install package=version", or alternatively, download the diablo version from the repository and "dpkg -i" it.
