Even commenting on the validity (or otherwise) of this persons statements could be a breach of NDA, so there is no way that you will get proof.

in fact, he hasn't said anything of any value
so no harm admitting what his job is, even if it would allow an insider to track him down.
except, of course, that admitting he's working at a cash register (even in a electronic) supermarket will rather spoil his effects, for sure...
