I'm not sure why you chose to highlight Skype to begin with, since you say you were well aware that lots of people were having problems installing it. I can't install it either. So that shows what -- you can't install a program that everyone knows is broken?

You are going to that cool repository site and trying to start the installation process from there, right? That's good, if true.

If you are having this much trouble doing what everyone else is having minimal trouble doing -- I, for example, installed lots of programs after installing 2008 this evening -- perhaps reflashing would be in order. It's not as if you have installed zillions of programs and it would be a big hassle to reinstall them!

So I would reflash, then go to that cool repository site and go thru and start installing 2008 programs. And take careful notes of exactly what you do and exactly what the results are.

It's not like the God of Nokia is against you. There has to be a reason that you can't install any programs.

Now, you will run into programs that give you the message that you quoted. But not all the programs. Tonight I installed FBReader, Devicescape, Mauku, Pidgin, Pid, Disk Usage, Maemopad+, Nako, Vagalume, Knips, UKMP (Dark and Tube), LSDoom, TuxPuck, and Map. I didn't even try most of the games.

I then went on to try to install stuff from the 2007 repository, just out of curiosity, with no success.
