That's the thing with races, results are unpredictable/non consistent, and sure mce has one, and no doubt the bug is in mce (I got it on plain diablo once) and thank's to it being so much "added value" nokia closed source we can't do a dammed thing to fix it, short of rewriting the whole thing.
Well, try reverting gconf/libgconf packages, booting will look slower (it really isn't), but you may get lucky.
