wmarone please take a look at the LATEST MeeGo UI you will see for yourself its capabilities, it needs a hell of a lot of work yet and the question is even with BME and SGX what progress has it really made because many will disagree it is even a workable UI at the moment.
Have a look at
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=44991
and see the dates on the posts, is over a year now, compare that with progress on MeeGo and you will see something is wrong and i think the support for MeeGo right now is not very much at all if that UI is anything to go by.
On the other hand the CSSU team have made much more progress to date.
Keep on searching and you will see a lot of reading about Intel and Nokia failing miserably on MeeGo.
I wish Carsten the best of luck because i feel he is going to need it, i have already said i will jump in when i see something worthwhile jumping in for, yes maybe a dim view but that is MY choice.
A lot is happening right now because of the Microsoft/Nokia merger and you will find everything taking a new direction including MeeGo and not forgetting Maemo.
Please do not dog this thread with argument because this is the last post of yours i will reply to ok.
I am going to edit this post and give you something to think about.....
"The "Why the Closed Packages" link? I don't see how that's relevant, whatsoever, to MeeGo. They have BME. They have the SGX drivers. Large chunks of what isn't open is either partially or completely replaced and isn't relevant to the hardware. You keep saying hardware."
They have this much of closed source so why is the current version of MeeGo for the N900 in the state it is in? laughable if you ask me so where is the proof of support here?.
