Well i didn't understand what you request but if you wanna know what kernel you are using then

uname -a

and if you wanna know that the battery module is loaded or not
there are multiple ways but the easiest is
open conky and keep your eyes on the tempreture and the battery usage left
then

modprobe -r bq27x00_battery

if you had it loaded then you will (after 5 seconds) that in conky the battery usage values changes to the TRUE values but the tempreture changes to -1 (only in conky) while in qcpu stays but not very accurated

and if you

modprobe bq27x00_battery

you will see that tempreture changes again to the TRUE values
but the battery usage values changes to WRONG values

Well for me i prefer to know the TRUE battery usage values

BUT BECAREFULL Your N900 will probably reboot after doing those steps
Cause playing with the battery modules is not safe
