Because there are closed bits in Maemo that, barring a miracle, Nokia will never release. MeeGo is fully open, and putting idle effort into a poll and demanding things that have not yet come despite far better, more well reasoned arguments just wastes time and effort better put into something else.
So you have a problem with us trying again to get this code released? Why do you have such a problem with this?

People are only saying that MeeGo can't replace Maemo ATM. Not never but just atm it cannot. That is why we want to just bug fix Maemo and get these open source replacements done quickly, and the source code would allow us to quickly get these replacements done.

If you have a look, you will see that in other threads and this one, I mentioned that we shoud use the open source code for the N900 adapatation of MeeGo as fundamentals such as SMS sending and recieving and the database implementations within Conversations, as well as the Phone application is going to have similar if not the same code that is within the closed source maemo version.

Well Nokia do at least know how to build a decent phone, just apparently don't know how to support it..

N900 Died Replaced with N8, Requested E7, "Accidentally Broke E7", Now rolling with an N9 and im loving it!
