apt-get remove --purge qgvnotify does not work.
1. Thats a bug in the qgvnotify remove script which is failing to terminate qgvnotify. I'll fix it in the next release of qgvnotify. For the moment, start xterm, run /opt/qgvdial/bin/qgvnotify and while it is running use fapman/ham to upgrade / remove / purge qgvnotify.
2. I've faced the problem of qgvdial failing after an upgrade - the only way I've been able to make forward progress is to move the cache database and let qgvdial make a new one.
So: Quit qgvdial (Ctrl+Q). Then in xterm, go to ~/.qgvdial
Code:
mv qgvdial.sqlite.db qgvdial.sqlite.db.save
Now restart qgvdial. It should work properly.
If it doesn't post me your log from that directory. Scrub first.
