You seem to believe in Apples model in "one phone to rule them all". Nokia does not do this. They care about having products to satisfy local needs, for example. They care about creating multiple models. Look at the Symbian^3 phones, one has a hardware keyboard, one has a great camera, one is slim and cheaper....
Ahh. Obviously you don't know me well enough. I hate Apple's model. I hate Android's model also. Their OSes don't interest me. It's too mainstream (aka, too simplified). That's why I still use my N900 daily as my main phone. (I even bought SGS2 last month then sold it 2 weeks after as I couldn't stand it not having hw keyboard or a proper multitasking capability)

Just look at their share prices. Would you risk it on Meego/Harmattan which has no ecosystem and have to build it from ground up? I would love for them to try. But the company doesn't have that luxury of time nor money anymore. They did before and still look where Maemo ended up after all those years.

Also, we have been there and done that already with Maemo. Yes, it was step 1 of 5 and was step 4 of 5 with Maemo5. But seems Nokia(Elop) don't believe Harmattan is step 5 of 5 yet. So like it or not, Nokia needs to come back up first before investing more into their own OS. So I really hope they succeed with WP7 phones so that they will re-try to satisfy us as well.

But for now, I still want the N9. HW keyboard or not!!
I want something different and I know it will be.
