Nokia is a big company, fixating on every single upcoming event they're involved in and saying "is this it?!" will get you breathless and disappointed.

Similar logic can be applied to the June 21st "Nokia Connections" event:
  • "an update on the company’s partnership with Microsoft, and the resulting new ecosystem"
  • "What will the new Ecosystem mean for Nokia and what are the global plans for developers and apps?"
  • "Mary will cover Nokia’s strategy around Mobile Phones"

Much has been made of "the global launch of brand new mobile devices". However, this is part of Mary McDowell is in charge of mobile phones - that means S40. The event is book-ended by talking about Windows Phone.

In other words, all of the June 21st event is based around Nokia's new strategy of:
  • low-end S40 for global, accessible devices, including in developing markets.
  • high-end Windows Phone devices

Doing anything Harmattan related would distract from the simplified story being pitched. In fact, the whole tone of the agenda suggests that Windows Phone may be sooner than we were expecting :-(
You may well be right reguardinfg the s40 phones
