BGA is resolderable with infrared soldering stations (or pro hotai soldering stations with correct skill), but still, if its integrated with CPU, it's impossible. Even if no, You're very unlikely to find different RAM with the same connection - most of the time it's custom bulid for given PCB.

Anyway, I think many of Us are familliar with Open Pandora project (if no, google it - its already done, finished, succed). Many times i wondered if same could be possible to make Meego run device, for example with Hildon UX via Cordia project. I don't see why not - probably biggest problem would be with GSM modem and overall phone funcionality, but I'm sure its possible to overcome.
A reward would be invaluable - N900-like device (maybe very little bigger) with 1GB RAM, multitouch, dual SD or microSD card slot (i personally preffer SD, they're faster/cheaper, and who care about little weight increase?) and DVI output via miniHDMI
