But the former requires me to do the work that the OP should have done in the first place, and only encourages laziness in the OP. Those people remind me of some little kid whining "Carry me Daddy!!!!!!!"

And the latter response gives me a moment of satisfaction when I hit that 'submit post' button.

It's a different story if they have searched and failed. Then I'm more than happy to help.
