@peter: Yes, I know that it was done to keep the dimensions down. I just don't especially like it. Removing the battery was a great way of resetting the phone in a hurry if it's gone haywire, and I I usually carry two batteries with me, in case I need more juice. Also, with a removable battery, higher density, third-party batteries can be used.

I don't doubt that the service department know their jobs, I just think that the one piece of tech that is the achilles heel of every power hungry superphone should be quickly accessible and swappable by the user.
