@misterc: Yes, I know that. Still it is suboptimal for a device that you want to carry in one hand and in a pants pocket. I can see carrying that in a backpack a last-ditch attempt to resuscitate the phone.

As for the battery-pullout-reset thing: I don't know about that. I don't think that removing that feature played any significant role in their decision to scrub the removable battery; I read that simply as collateral damage.
