I'm not sure about what to do.
I use my N900(bought it second hand) at home(reading forums and doing IM on the couch) and a cheap ZTE Blade(600mhz/512mb) with Custom 2.2 Android when I'm out because it's slim, light and has better battery performance.
I was going to ditch the Blade for a Galaxy S2(great deal on hand, I'm not the guy to spend much money on a phone so this is an exception)..
The N9 would be a no-brainer if it would feature a qwerty keyboard. And while I'm quite a geek I don't mind the single core as long as the flow is good anyway, so the rest of the specs is ok for me(although this could change depending on the price tag, and I expect a huge one knowing Nokia).
I guess I will get a second hand N9 in 2012, but only for nostalgia. It's not like this phone will provide something special like the N900 does today with it's awesome keyboard.
And yeah, I'm quite the idealist and will not stop rooting for open source, but I'm not in a position to spend like 500 € or more on a phone just because it runs Linux and is unique. Granted, I would like to buy one just to make a point and get my family and friends to join the boat, but the Elop won't care anyway - so I stick with my N900+some Android device combo and will just ignore whatever symbian/wp7 products Nokia is going to release.
on a different note I just hope the company will get back on track somehow, not only because my job is tied to customers buying Nokia products but also because the company used to be great and shouldn't be ruined by the Elop
